Watching an Eruption!

We hope you like the video!

Vanuatu Rocks

That was a big eruption!!!

Looking at the rocks...

This piece of lava landed on the trail earlier in the afternoon. It is still hot!

A great view of the beast, the volcano of course.

Just a small eruption

Maria on her way up up up to the rim to get a better view.

This was taken on the volcano's rim. Notice the nice smoke in the background?
The hike to the crater rim

Thar she is!

Our room in Tanna, Vanuatu. Don't you like the mosquito netting?!?

The Vanuatu International Half Marathon. Notice the runners in yellow behind me without shoes.

Welcome to the 2nd half of our great journey around the world!

It is fitting that we start our new blog with this story. We celebrate a new ocean and a new grandson all at the same time!

Timothy Isaac Siguaw with Maria, Zach and Heidi

Maria flies from Australia, the far side of the world, arrives in Colorado, and in less than 12 hours Zach and Heidi gave birth to a healthy baby boy named Timothy Isaac Siguaw.

The baby was born at 4:40 AM, Friday, August 20, 2010 and weighed 6 lb. 15 oz. He is 21 1/4 inches long, about 2 inches longer than Zach when he was born. Mother and baby are doing well!

It was really special to have Maria arrive for the birth and this was well planned by Captain Steve of course. I am still on the boat, trying to get repairs completed before we are ready to continue our journey while Maria is enjoying being in civilization again!

It seems that Timothy has pretty big feet for a newborn. This is a sure sign of a long distance runner and sailor because as the nursery rhyme goes, Friday's child has far to go - isn't that amazing?!?

Congratulations Zach, Heidi and Nik!

Sail on sail on Aspen...

The land down under - Pioneer Valley outside of Mackay, Australia

It was a looong crossing to Australia from Vanuatu.
