We flew out of Chicago with a 4 hour stop in jolly old England before winging our way to Istanbul, Turkey. We are headed back to our sailboat Aspen again!
Istanbul is a long long way and in another world from our home in Pine, Colorado, that's for sure. It was snowing lightly today when we arrived!
We will explore Istanbul's markets, mosques and ancient ruins before renting a car and slowly driving down south to Marmaris where Aspen is waiting for us. We plan to visit the places of legend along the way: the WWI battlefield at the Dardanelles, ancient Troy, the ruins at Ephesus where the apostles from the bible and even the Virgin Mary lived and passed through the once thriving city, then hiking to the historic tombs on the trails of the Hittites before arriving back in Marmaris.
Sail on, sail on and sail safe Aspen…
